Ubuntu Eee is basically a stripped down version of Ubuntu, specially compiled for the Eee PC. It contains all functionality of the original Ubuntu and comes pre-installed with free and open-source applications.

All you need to install Ubuntu on your Eee PC is a USB Stick (1GB at least) and the Ubuntu Eee ISO. Follow the steps below for easy instructions.

1. Download the Ubuntu Eee 8.04 ISO from one the links (Direct | Torrent).
2. Use this application to move Ubuntu Eee over your USB Stick (Windows | Linux). If you are having problems moving Ubuntu Eee to the USB stick, follow this article.
3. Now insert the stick into your Asus Eee PC, start and press ESC a couple of times while the Asus boot screen is displayed. Select your USB stick from the list of bootable devices.
4. Select language and follow the installation instructions.
