Well a week ago i did this trick and it worked for me both the time i did, i will tell you guys exactly what  i did, i have the above printer HP Laser Jet 1018, one at home one at office. So one day i was printing an important submittal documents and my printer started printing fade text and images. I thought its toner was out and stopped printing fade prints. I pulled out the toner and shacked it well to see if that trick works and lol it worked for me.  Read till end.

 

After shaking it well, shack it smoothly, don’t shack it too hard, put the toner back in printer and it will start giving high quality prints again and it will work for a month or two am sure. Coz mine is still working.
